NEMSIS 3 ePCR - Medical History article will provide you information about the Medical History panel.

The Medical History panel contains only one section with the following fields:

  • Medical History Obtained From
  • Patient Practitioners
  • Medication Allergies
  • Environmental/Food Allergies
  • Medical/Surgical History
  • The Patient's Type of Immunization
  • Current Medications
  • Alcohol/Drug Use Indicators
  • Pregnancy
  • Last Oral Intake

This part of the ePCR is pretty self-explanatory, so we'll just point out some key elements and best practices keep in mind

The "Current Medications" dropdown consists of many chemical names, generic names and trade names. Please contact Support if there any medications you encounter in the field that are missing from the list.

As you start typing the name of the medication, the list will auto-filter based on the characters you enter. The string of characters you enter may appear anywhere within the names of meds in the filtered results, not just at the beginning of the medication name:

NOTE: Nearly all of the fields in this section are not required by NEMSIS 3, they are either:

  • Optional (Does not need to be completed and does not allow for NOT values), or
  • Recommended (Does not need to be completed and allows NOT values)

Simply put, this means that for any Optional field you cannot select the following:

    • Not Applicable
    • Not Recorded
    • Not Reporting

For any Recommended field you can select a NOT value listed above.

Ok, onward to Patient Care.
