Export Your ER Calendar to Google, iCal, or Outlook Calendars

In order to help you stay up to date on everything on your schedule, users now have the ability to download their current Emergency Reporting Calendar (in the Calendar Module) and upload it to their individual Google, iCal, or Outlook Calendar. Click the Download link at the top of the Calendar module to download an .ics file.

IMPORTANT: This is not a live link that will automatically sync changes to other calendars. If you make updates on your ER Calendar and want them to display on other calendars, you will need to repeat each process and replace the current .ics file used by other calendars by downloading a new one.

Google Calendar

Step 1: Save the .ics file.

Once you click the Download link you will receive an .ics file. Click the .ics download to save it or drag it to your desktop.

Step 2: Open up your Google Calendar.

You can access your Google Calendar in their Navigation menu once you are signed in to your individual Google Account.

Step 3: Import your ER Calendar.

Navigate to "Other calendars" on the left side of your Google calendar. Select the dropdown arrow and click Import calendar.

You will then be shown a pop up where you will choose the .ics file to upload, where you wish to have the calendar display, and then click Import.

Step 4: Change the Settings of your new Calendar.

On the left side of your Google calendar, you can see the newly imported calendar under My calendars. Select the dropdown arrow to change the calendar's different settings, notifications, or share it with others.

To delete this calendar from displaying on your Google calendar, click Calendar settings and choose Delete all events in this calendar.

iCal

Step 1: Save the .ics file.

Once you click the Download link you will receive an .ics file. Click the .ics download to save it or drag it to your desktop.

Step 2: Open your .ics file with iCal.

Right click on the saved .ics file and choose the "Open with dropdown". Then click Calendar.

You can now view the events in iCal. To delete the calendar, delete the .ics file.

Outlook Calendar

Step 1: Save the .ics file.

Once you click the Download link you will receive an .ics file. Click the .ics download to save it or drag it to your desktop.

Step 2: Open the .ics file with Microsoft Outlook.

If Microsoft Outlook is set as your default Calendar, such as in the example, then all you will have to do is click OK. If it is not, select Open with and choose Microsoft Outlook.

Step 3: Rename the Calendar.

After clicking Ok, the Calendar will automatically download it to your Outlook as an "Untitled Calendar". To rename it, simply right click on the "Untitled" and rename it to "ER Calendar" or another name that makes sense to you.

To delete your ER Calendar from your Outlook Calendar, just delete the .ics file from your archives on your computer.

That's it! Remember that if you make any updates to your ER Calendar, you will have to re-upload the updated .ics file to whatever calendar you wish to see it in.
